Application system:

PAMID D630 is a microcrystalline amide-modified castor oil derivative. Can be used in solvent-based and solvent-free coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants, glues, pastes, oils and lubricants.

Features:

100% active microcrystalline powder, good thixotropic properties and viscosity recovery, suitable for solvent-free coatings, very good anti-sagging effect, good in anti-settling effect & re-coatability performance.

Specific performance:

1. Maintains high viscosity under low shear force and very low viscosity under high shear force; effectively prevents settling and has excellent painting performance
2. When the shear force changes from high shear force to low shear force, the coating system will go through a bridging process again; in this process, the final coating can obtain a good leveling effect.

Recommended addition level:  

In order to achieve good anti-settling and anti-sagging effects, the general addition amount accounts for 0.2-2.0% of the overall formula.

How to use:

Suitable for various solvent systems such as: aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents, aromatic hydrocarbon solvents, aromatic hydrocarbon and alcohol mixed systems. Compared with ordinary castor oil rheology agent, D630 modified by amide is more

resistant to strong solvents. This greatly reduces the occurrence of anti-thickness and false thickening problems.

Applicable temperature recommendation:

Aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent: 35-50°C Aromatic hydrocarbon solvent: 30-50°C

Aromatic hydrocarbon solvent/mixed alcohol solvent: 30-50°C Solvent-free epoxy system: 40-60°C

≤55°C, easy to precipitate above 55°C

Within the recommended temperature range, D630 is best added using a high-speed disperser during the pigment dispersion stage. For best performance, dispersion time should be maintained for 20-40 minutes. The use of a high-speed disperser can generate the necessary shear force and activation temperature for complete dispersion. This activation process transforms D630 particles into an overlapping fiber network structure; thus giving the coating system thixotropic properties.

Too high a temperature, too low a temperature or too short a time can lead to insufficient activation. High temperature can cause the fiber web to be dissolved, and when the temperature is lowered, it is inevitable that the dissolved D630 will precipitate and become coarse.

If the coating is unloaded at a temperature below 40°C without stirring during the cooling process, the paint will be falsely thick. To prevent false thickening, mechanical force must be fully stirred before testing.

For complex formulations and application conditions, we strongly recommend rigorous testing prior to use. Especially under poor applicable conditions such as hot substrate, thermal spray, etc.

Storage temperature:

A dry place between 5°C and 30°C.

Shelf life: two years.
