Sodium lauryl sulfate is also called sodium lauryl sulfate/sodium lauryl sulfate/SDS. It is generally white or milky white needles or powder. It has a slightly fatty smell, has a smooth feel, and can decompose in moist air. The molecular formula is CH3(CH2)11OSO3Na, molecular weight 288.38, CAS number 151-21-3, slightly soluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in chloroform, ether and light petroleum. Melting point: 204~207℃. Store in a sealed, cool and dry place.

Sodium lauryl sulfate reagent uses: anionic surfactant, electrophoretic separation of proteins and lipids, ion pair chromatography, wetting agent, detergent, textile industry, toothpaste preparation ingredients, organic synthesis, etc.
Precautions when using sodium lauryl sulfate reagent:
1. It is flammable. When its powder is mixed with air, it can form an explosive mixture, which can be irritating to the eyes, upper respiratory tract and skin. Can cause allergic reactions in the respiratory system.
2. Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention.
3. Eye contact: Lift your eyelids and rinse with running water or saline. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention.
4. Inhalation: Leave the scene to fresh air. If you have difficulty breathing, give oxygen and seek medical attention.
5. Ingestion: Drink enough warm water, induce vomiting, and seek medical attention.
